Upon opening the file, you will be presented with the [Data Entry] sheet
split vertically into a yellow and blue section. Each section has an upper and lower part (split horizontally).
The top part will always show the top eleven (11) rows, the lower part will scroll as you add entries.
 |
In the upper part of the [Data Entry] blue section are eight green cells with a white cell to
the right of each. You enter your party character names in the green cell, and what the required XP for their
next level is in the white. You can enter the characters in any order you like.
|
| Here's an example: |
 |
If your party is new (ie, hasn't earnt any XP yet), you don't need to do Step 2 (jump ahead to Step 3).
If you already have an established adventuring party, you will want to bring the spreadsheet up to date so the
amount of XP required shows correctly. This is done via the [Adjustments] sheet. Look along the bottom-left, you
will see two tabs, click on the second tab. This has a teal (blue/green) coloured background.
 |
In the [Adjustments] table, add an entry for each character and their current amount of earnt XP
(or use the name of "All" if they all have exactly the same amount of earnt XP). Use this table also when the
party are awarded XP for completing a quest or something like that.
|
| Here are some examples: |
 |
 |
Back on the [Data Entry] sheet, in the lower part of the yellow section. Here you find two white
cells per row, titled Battle Kills and Battle XP. The idea here is whenever the party complete a battle, Wizardry
8 displays a "You've won! xx kills earned. Survivors earned nnnnnn Experience Points each!!!" message, you enter
the number of kills and the XP earnt.
|
If one or more party members didn't survive the encounter (so they miss out of a share of the stated XP), enter
the character's name and negative the amount of XP won in that battle in the [Adjustments] sheet.
Here's an example:
(Notice how the highest number   of monsters and XP are in bold)   |
 |
Repeat Step 3 after each battle, when a character attains a new character level, update their target XP to get
renewed estimates. And remember to save often!
